Historical Oddy Test Results: Polyethylene Strap

Oddy Test Results for 50mm PolyStrap as follows:

1. 50mm Polyethylene Strap: pH test: passed

2. 50mm Polyethylene Strap: silver foil test: passed

3. 50mm Polyethylene Strap: lead foil test: passed

4. 50mm Polyethylene Strap: copper foil test: passed

The materials which have passed the tests carried out above are safe to use in proximity to art objects and should pose no conservation problems in the Museum setting.

nb. The material submitted to testing came from a roll of 2" polystrap. It should be noted that the same material is used for all widths of our polyethylene strapping
